About Me
Stephanie Shi manages and promotes SEA Lit Circle, an independent community she started for writers and readers in Southeast Asia. Together with her partner, she designed and planned activities exclusively for community members, and discerned which ones to share with the public via social media—not just to stir awareness about the community but also to serve literature lovers in the region.
From 2018 to 2019, Stephanie was a senior native advertising editor at Summit Media, the top digital lifestyle publisher in the Philippines. She produced the native advertisements for the women's titles: Cosmopolitan Philippines, Town&Country Philippines, Preview, Female Network, and Candy. She conceptualized and pitched quality content to advertisers looking to reach and engage with a wider audience. She also led a team of editors to marry each advertiser's objective with the brand and readership of the different publications, as well as trained her team in copyediting and storytelling.
In 2016 and 2017, Stephanie was a freelance managing editor responsible for the content marketing projects of Globe Telecom, one of the leading telecommunications providers in the Philippines, and Shipping Cart, a courier company. She conceptualized the content calendars to revolve around the companies' products and services while still offering quality reading material to the target market.
Stephanie has a bachelor of fine arts degree in creative writing. In 2014, she graduated cum laude from Ateneo de Manila University and received the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts for her essays. She has been a fellow in a few writers workshops in the Philippines, where she received further training in nonfiction from award-winning writers. Her essays and poems have appeared in various literary journals and anthologies from across the world.
